Artistic glass processing

About me

Hello, my name is Vladimir Nasonov. I have been engaged in artistic manual processing of glass since 1994. Since 2014, I have been an associate member of (The Guild Of Glass Engravers). On this site you can get acquainted with my works, which are executed using different glass processing methods, which I learned during this time, namely: hand engraving, impact engraving, etching, sandblasting and others.

Why glass?

Many centuries passed since a man had learned to make and handle glass. Each period of time left really varied samples of art glass. Nowadays the works of skilled craftsmen continue to radiate energy and warmth of the hands. Glass, having incorporated a long way of searching form and content, hard work, splash of soul and imagination gives amazing emotions.

As for me glass is a canvas, a blank sheet, a chess board with orderly rows of figures that waiting for the first step. Glass, in its own way, is an interesting material and things made from glass are very beautiful. Especially if you are able to handle it, then you can create amazing things that reflect the hidden emotions of their creators. Constantly experimenting with different techniques and discovering new opportunities for myself, so I am not limited to one style or theme. Also, I am often using stone, wood, metal and other materials in my compositions of glass artwork.

That, what inspires

Most of my glass products are unique and I did them under the influence of one or another circumstances, but also, some of them were based on the old ornaments or under the impression of someone else's work. In the process of self-study and self-improvement, I was greatly influenced by the works of Peter Sitell, Vladimir Makovetsky and other Western Europe masters of the 16th-20th centuries. Therefore, like the other modern masters, I'm trying to use a different varieties of tools to achieve unique and incredible effects on the glass.
